Ignite the Change

Pulsating rhythms, vibrant colours, a sea of dancing bodies and a spirit so contagious it can ignite a revolution – welcome to the carnival, my friends! The carnival is more than a party; it’s a celebration of life, a symphony of emotions. And at the heart of this grand spectacle, adding fuel to the fire, is Wrath, a premium spirit that, like a samba dancer, is impossible to ignore. Wrath, my friends, isn’t just an alcoholic beverage; it’s a call to action. This fiery red concoction is an embodiment of the passion that drives us, the anger that fuels us to challenge the status quo, to fight for what’s right, to dance against the wrongs of the world. Our journey

GLUTTONY- Why stop yourself?

Gluttony means over-indulgence or lack of self-restraint. So how could that be a good thing? Well if you think about it how often have you felt frustrated because you felt restrained from being honest or simply saying what’s on your mind? So picture instead you being completely open about what you think and feel. Experience yourself stepping way from the crowd and being who you really are instead of being scared about being laughed at. This is where being a glutton for punishment make you different and in a good way So we say be a glutton and accept no limitations except those you set for yourself

“GREED-IS GOOD”

Greed means intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth or power. So if we did not feel a bit of greed sometimes what would happen? You would not ask for that pay rise, dream about a new business or put yourself forward for that next promotion. Without  a touch of greed we would not feel a need to improve ourselves and push ourselves to achieve more. And the great thing about doing those things is that we benefit other people. We create new jobs, are better leaders focused on changing the world for the better because we know we do not get more power or wealth without adding value. So we say be greedy and let it push you

PRIDE-be you, be happy

Pride means a feeling of happiness you get when you or someone else achieves something hard or difficult. Do you remember that time your teacher praised you or when you did something your friends told you couldn’t. Your step was little bit lighter, your head held a little bit higher. Pride gives you a belief in yourself, it allows you to face the crap that life throws at you (and we all now it will) with certainty that you will come out the otherside better and stronger. Pride in your teams success, sport or business, stops us feeling isolated and makes us feel part of something bigger. Pride in friends and family makes us feel more connected and allows us

WRATH- don’t look back in anger I hear you say

Wrath means extreme anger. Now expressed in the wrong way ( I immediately think road rage) that is not a good thing but harnessed it is probably the cause of more good than anything. Extreme anger at injustices caused Martin Luther King to “have a dream” Extreme anger at discrimination led the suffragette movement to take women out of the shadows Extreme anger at monarchies led to democracy Wrath is the rocket fuel essential for great changes, whether personally or on the bigger scale. It is the passion that keeps you going in the face of adversity. So we say let you Wrath fuel you passions

Envy-The Green Eyed Monster or is it?

Envy is a desire to have a quality, possession, or other desirable thing belonging to someone else. Think of someone you admire. I bet you thought about how they achieved something or some characteristic they have and wished you could do or have the same. Welcome to the world of envy! It can make us examine ourselves and identify those things we want to change so that we can achieve the things we want. Whether that is a wonderful relationship, a successful career or a more compassionate outlook it doesn’t matter envying those things in other people propels us towards change and being the best version of ourselves we can. So we say be envious and let it make you

SLOTH- the feeling not the cute creature !

Sloth well it can mean a reluctance to make an effort or (perhaps a good description of me) the slowest moving mammal- take your pick ! Ok who, in today’s world, doesn’t want to take a time out from all the madness going on around them ? It’s called being human. We seem to be constantly on the go making time for everyone except ourselves. This is leading to more health issues than ever, caused by burn out. So maybe its time we took a lesson from the Sloth and slowed down a bit. It gives us the chance to appreciate what is around us and what we have and perhaps to reconnect with ourselves and our goals. So we

What Are The Seven Deadly Sins?

We get asked this question quite often. So we thought we would answer it. The Seven Deadly Sins (sometimes called Cardinal sins) are Lust, Wrath, Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth and Pride. Over the next few weeks we will give our take on why experiencing them, in today’s world, is often a good thing. So lets kick off with everyones favourite. LUST Lust means strong desire, wrongly often thought of as a purely sexual desire. Sure we all know that feeling when we see someone special. We get excited and start shaking with the surge of andrenaline from the anticipation of what may happen (and lets be honest what we hope will happen!!). So it’s a good thing, the intial push. Without it

NEW BEGINNINGS

Like most in the hospitality chain 2020 was not great for us here at SDS. Fortunately, unlike too many in the industry, we are still alive and kicking. We have taken a hint from Monty Python and have decided to “look on the bright side of life(admit it you started to hum the tune). Certainly, the Bank of England forecast that there will be a strong bounce back in late 2021 is source for hope and we think people in the hospitality industry will be amongst those that are big winners. Why we hear you ask!! Ok we will tell you but as we want people to read this blog not put them to sleep, we’ll keep things short. There
